Ongoing Programming
Speaker Series: SWIM hosts speakers each year to give current students the opportunity to learn from leaders across industries. Past topics have ranged from industry focused career advice to ethics in the workplace.
Workshops: SWIM organizes skill-development workshops to meet the personal and professional development needs of our members. SWIM workshops are strategically planed to address the issues that SWIM members feel are most critical for their professional development.
Service: Community service events are an opportunity to meet and interact with like-minded classmates who are passionate about giving back and creating meaningful impact. SWIM aims to form long-term relationships with local non-profit organizations such as Rosie’s Place and Habitat for Humanity to craft on-going community service programs.
Mentorship: SWIM offers a mentorship program to its members to make the MIT Sloan experience more smooth and enjoyable. During the summer prior to matriculation, first year students are matched with second year students. Mentors serve as a resource to help navigate various facets of the business school experience, such as class recommendations, career advice, and cultural adjustment guidance.
Community: SWIM hosts numerous community-building events to help Sloanies relax, have fun, and form connections. Community events have also been transitioned successfully to virtual mode in light of COVID-19.
